Oh! how blind I walked and lost wandered,

Far, far from my Savior!

But from heaven He came down, and His blood shed

To save such a poor sinner.

It was on the cross, it was on the cross,

where one day i saw

My sin punished in Jesus;

It was there, by faith, that my eyes opened,

And now I rejoice in Your light

I heard about this unique grace,

Who brought our Jesus from heaven;

But I became deaf, I didn't want to convert

To the Lord, who died for me on the cross.

But one day I felt my sin, and I saw

Over me the sword of the law;

I hurried away, I hid in Jesus,

And safe haven in Him I found.

How happy, then, is this heart of mine,

Knowing the great love

That led my Jesus to suffer there on the cross;

To save such a poor sinner.
